  1. I wish I could remember specifics from the book, because your post deserves something more intelligible than me saying I remember finding it interesting to read examples of how Hindi and Urdu came to be and learning about how there was later a conscious effort made to diverge the two streams!

    1. Yes, the crux of his argument is that the conscious effort started much earlier than some assert, and was not initiated by the British, merely facilitated.

    This is the first time I've stumbled upon a genuine book blog, and it's much more interesting than I had thought.

    I've always wondered how different Hindi and Urdu actually are from each other, so I might just read that book.
